The L&A Team
The L&A team is made up of highly qualified hotel professionals and trainers each with over 20 years experience in the international hospitality industry.

Liz Lycette, founder of Lycette&Associates was born in New Zealand and is a graduate of École Hotelière de Lausanne, Switzerland. She started her career in the hospitality industry in 1981 and at the age of 23 became Executive Housekeeper for the grand opening of Mandarin Oriental in Macau. She subsequently held this position at The Conrad Hong Kong, Mandarin Oriental Jakarta, Le Meridien Hotel, London, and The Regent Hotel, Sydney. Liz was also Project Manager for the opening of 3 properties in China for Harbour Plaza Hotels and Resorts.
Liz established Lycette&Associates in 1999 and has since undertaken hospitality consulting assignments and training both in Australia and overseas including work for Moevenpick Middle East,Taj Hotels & Resorts in India and Australia, Marriott Hotels India, Hong Kong Hotels Association, Langham Hotels & Resort, Venetian Macau, Hotel Nikko Bali, Galaxy Macau and Westin KL.
Liz’s extensive international expertise and considerable Housekeeping knowledge, has given her a truly multi-cultural approach and a wide range of diverse contacts throughout the industry. Her excellent organisational skills, adaptability and integrity enable her to complete any assignment with energy, efficiency and positive results.
Agnes has joined the L&A team in Bali a where she will provide our services to client hotels in Indonesia.
Born in France and a graduate of the Geneva Hotel School, Agnes is a very experienced Executive Housekeeper with more than 15 years experience in hotels such as Hilton Brussels, the Hilton Brisbane and the Hilton Jakarta. She brings to the L&A team her extensive pre-opening and opening experience including strong operating procedures and training skills. Agnes' opening experience include the Bali Hilton Convention Centre and Ascot Apartments in Jakarta.
With over 16 years in Indonesia, Agnes speaks fluent Bahasa Indonesia and has a solid understanding of the local culture enabling her to achieve sustainable and lasting results.
Meike was born in Germany where she began her career in hospitality with an apprenticeship in 1985.
She continued her professional development with Sheraton in London and the Hyatt Group in Germany and in 1993 took up the position of Executive Housekeeper at the Grand Hyatt in Jakarta, Indonesia. Meike’s experience and operational strength further broadened when she joined several pre-opening support teams opening Hyatt hotels in Fukuoka, Japan, Bandung, Indonesia and Shanghai, China. Meike became Director of Rooms at the Hyatt Regency Xian, China in 1997.
In 2001 she returned with her family to Berlin and took up the position of Executive Housekeeper with the prestigious Hotel Adlon. During this time she has also carried out consulting and support work for other Kempinski hotels.
Meike’s extensive deluxe hotel experience, especially in pre-opening support, her strong leadership skills and passion for Housekeeping inspire loyalty and commitment from every team she works with.
L&A are delighted to announce a new member of the team based in Bali Indonesia, Ms Margit Arnold.
Margit’s role as Auditor will be to assist L&A Associate Agnes Zlotek Petit in her duties under the Corporate Housekeeping banner for Swiss Belhotel International.
Margit Arnold was born in Germany and is a graduate of Speiser’s Hotel School in Tegernsee, Germany.
She began her career in the hospitality industry in 1977 at Holiday Inn Eibsee near Garmisch-Partenkirchen. In 1978 she moved to Munich Hilton, which was to be the start of a 14-year career with Hilton International. In 1990, after almost 10 years at Dubai Hilton as Reservation and F/O Manager, Margit moved to Bali for the opening of the Bali Hilton (now Ayodya Resort Bali) in the capacity of Rooms Division Manager. For several years she was also Divisional Front Office Coordinator for Hilton International for the Gulf and Pakistan, and later on for South East Asia.
From 1992 till 2011 Margit held the position of General Manger in various hotels in Indonesia, including Hotel Bromo Tosari, Lombok Intan Laguna, The Bali Aga, Mimpi Resorts Bali, Club Bali Mirage and Hotel Sanur Beach Bali.
In March 2000, she established PT Srikandi Hospitality Consulting, concentrating on hotel management and sales & marketing consulting for smaller properties and villas. At the same time she developed an online reservations website www.balihotelsandvillas.com. Currently she operates a restaurant with her husband in Sanur, Bali.
Margit brings with her an ability to communicate fluently in Indonesian and an extensive knowledge and experience in understanding and managing the local culture and workforce.
Janine was born in England but has spent the last twenty years in Australia. After completing her hospitality studies in England and her apprenticeship at The Chewton Glen Hotel and The Lygon Arms, she commenced her hospitality career working for Diplomatic Households in London and Vienna before moving to The Dorchester Hotel, London to concentrate on recruitment, retention, training and the establishment of the Guest Relations Department.
Upon relocating to Australia she worked for a hospitality training company specializing in apprenticeships and traineeships. She completed post graduate studies in Public Sector Management working in training, learning systems and industrial relations across many occupations including leading the establishment of a Queensland Public Sector Training Advisory Board.
Janine brings to the L&A team a passion and experience in learning including e-learning , training, organisational development, people management, financial management, project design and implementation, relationship management within culturally diverse workplaces.
Michael is a British and Australian national with over thirty years experience as a service specialist and consultant in Australia, Asia and Europe. With extensive knowledge of both the hospitality and retail sectors Michael’s range of skills include operations management & training and assessment design & delivery with a particular focus in areas of guest and customer service.
Michael’s operational and managerial experience in food and beverage, stewarding, front office, housekeeping and guest services combine with his global expertise, service assessment, quality auditing, training, development and delivery for respected brands including: Club Med, le Méridien Hotels & Resorts, Sheraton, Sofitel Luxury Hotels, APEC 2000, JD Power & Associates and the Blue Mountains International Hotel Management School; whilst creating exceptional customer experiences in the retail environments of David Jones, Myer and Georg Jensen.
Having been based in Australia, Europe and Indonesia Michael’s considerable global experience in service and creating exceptional guest experiences has been applied to projects ranging from luxury hotel openings to retail and hotel management and consultancy over five continents. Micheal has a profound knowledge of the Indonesian culture and speaks the language fluently.
Ariane was born in Stuttgart, Germany, and speaks English, French and German. After completing her apprenticeship at the Excelsior Hotel Ernst, Cologne she moved to the Savoy Hotel in London where she developed her passion for the hospitality industry.
During 20 years of involvement with some of the great hotels of the world she has worked at the Noga Hilton, Geneva; the Ritz Hotel, Paris; and the Four Seasons and Berkeley Hotels in London. In 1995 she was recruited by the prestigious Hong Kong and Shanghai Hotels Group to assist with the preparation and opening of the refurbished Peninsula Hotel, Hong Kong. After 7 years with the Peninsula Group including assignments in Beijing and Bangkok Ariane moved with her family to Australia. She has since shared her considerable and unique, international experience through hospitality industry consulting assignments.
Ariane brings to the L&A team her expertise in financial management, team motivation, training and the initiation and implementation of practical ideas and systems to hotel Housekeeping activities.
Tim is an Australian by birth, a graduate from École Hotelière de Lausanne, Switzerland, and speaks both English and French.
He was a member of the opening team of the (former) Regent in Melbourne, and a founding staff member of the Blue Mountains International Hotel Management School. In 1996 he moved to South East Asia and worked with Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group in Indonesia and Hong Kong as both Training Manager and Group Training Manager.
He later held the position of Corporate Director of Training for Mövenpick Gastronomy, Switzerland before joining L&A as senior Training Consultant, while continuing to manage Topconcept Asia Pacific.
Tim's core competencies include sales and management development, customer service development, development of visions and guiding principals and their translation into operation skills.
Aad van der Linden
Aad is based in The Netherlands and Bali, Indonesia and been running his own successful laundry consultancy for over 7 years. He worked for many years for Unilever’s Industrial Cleaning Division and has been responsible for textile washing product development and global technical laundry product support. Next to working with the majority of European Commercial laundries like Initial, BTB, Lips and Berendsen, he worked with a big range of 5* hotel On Premise Laundries (OPL’s) like the Taj, Oberoi, Hyatt, Hilton, Sheraton, Shangri-la, Melia, Four Season and Kempinski, as well as with the bigger commercial laundries word-wide.
As well as hotel operational reviews of the laundry department Aad also conducts seminars for housekeepers, laundry design and equipment advice, performance and standard checks, textile quality and lifetime expectancy.
We are flexible and can customise workshops and coaching sessions to meet your individual needs and requirements.
L&A provides personalised operational reviews of existing housekeeping operation to assist in identifying challenges and assessing effectiveness and productivity of current procedures.
L&A consultants can assist with the setting up of the housekeeping operations at the pre-opening phase or complete a full hotel opening.
