What are you doing for International Housekeeping Week?
From 11-17 September 2022, Housekeeping operations throughout the world celebrate International Housekeeping Appreciation week. Its time to say a huge Thank You to all the Housekeeping heroes who have been coping over the last few years with Covid and all that has happened. Remember they have not only been managing the huge changes to cleaning practices and protocols but the teams have also been managing the rollercoaster of occupancy in the industry.
How did we celebrate in the past?
Here are just a few ideas on how to make a meaningful difference for the Housekeeping team.
Start the week off with a cake/cupcakes and special thank you from the Senior Management team at the morning briefing (save some cake for the evening and overnight teams)
Celebrate with games and competitions! Set aside one of your function spaces and set up fun games such as vacuum cleaning slalom, pillowcase sack race relays, toilet paper throwing (into a big rubbish bin)
Toilet paper mummy wrapping and mop relay. The possibilities are endless with a bit of imagination.
How about a special lunch? If budgets are tight, ask each of the team to bring a unique dish from their home kitchen.
Other Departments can show their appreciation too
Front Office could offer a helping hand cleaning rooms for the day, Spa team can offer 10 mins back and neck massages.
Little gifts and vouchers never go amiss and finish the week with a lucky drawer.
